3 bedroom semi habitable house with an annex in Castanheira de Pera
This three bedroom house, situated just a few minutes outside Castanheira de Pera is semi habitable as it has a kitchen and a bathroom, but it will be needed to do some work and update the house. It comes with a good size annex, a well and a nice piece of garden and views over the town of Castanheira de Pera, it has a rural feel but yet close to amenities.
This house is on the end of the road, with just a few other houses scattered around. There is a piece of land above the house excellent to turn into a car park. As walking in to the gated courtyard there are a row of stone storage houses all connected, the last room before entering the gate belongs to the house, this row continues into the courtyard and here you have another three rooms, one is built as a kitchen and have a fireplace in it. This annex would be excellent to turn into a rental or more room for your guests.
The main house is on two floors, the main living area is on the top floor and contains three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom.
As entering the property you will come in to a hallway and the kitchen with a fireplace and of good size, the bathroom is on to your left, to you right is the biggest of the bedroom. Walking through is the living room and the two more bedrooms on to your left.
Under the house is two storage rooms, currently wine rooms (adegas) with the necessary equipment to produce wine with the tank and the wooden barrels. On to the side is where they used to make corn flour and the equipment is still there and in working order.
You will reach the walled garden from the courtyard by some short steps, the garden have several fruit trees such as cherry, pear, plum, orange and olive, some of these trees has just been planted as the garden has been affected by a fire. In the garden is also a 11000 litre water tank which collects the rain water. In the courtyard is two taps, one is from the water tank and the other one is from the mains water, this water is excellent to water your garden. There is another gate at the top of the garden wide enough for a car or tractor.
The views are very nice and from up here you have a view over the whole town of Castanheira de Pera, on to the side of the property there are nice walks and a pretty stream.
The wooden beams on the main house are new and was changed not long ago. There is mains water to the property, the electricity is connected and there is sewage on the street.
All the furniture and equipment is included in the price.
In Castanheira de Pera, you will have doctor, schools, supermarkets, cafes and resturantes, weekly fruit and vegetable market, a famous outdoor swimming pool with a wave machine called Praia de Rochas and plenty of river beaches.
Lisbon and Porto is around 2 hours away and Coimbra, Portugal's third biggest city is around 35 minutes away, the seaside is around a 50 minute drive.
